Dr Yun Phua is a Specialist Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon in Brisbane, with a practice focused on aesthetic and reconstructive surgery of the head and face. His facial aesthetic surgery includes rhinoplasty (nose surgery), facelift and midface lift, upper and lower blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery), otoplasty (ear surgery) and genioplasty (chin surgery).

With subspecialty training in craniofacial surgery and reconstructive facial surgery, Dr Phua considers both the bone and the soft tissue of the face when treating concerns related to ageing, congenital differences, injury and skin cancer.

Alongside private practice, Dr Phua is Director of the Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Queensland Children’s Hospital and President of the Australian and New Zealand Society of Craniomaxillofacial Surgery (ANZSCMFS). At the University of Queensland, he researches regenerative surgical strategies, including 3D-printed biological scaffolds designed to support the body’s own tissue regeneration.

Dr Phua graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) from the University of Auckland. He then trained in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in New Zealand and Australia before completing subspecialty fellowships at the Royal Children’s Hospital Melbourne and Uppsala University Hospital in Sweden.

He is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) and a member of the Australian Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) and the Australasian Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (ASAPS).

Consultations with Dr Phua are held at Terrace Plastic Surgery on Wickham Terrace, Spring Hill, Brisbane. He operates at Brisbane Private Hospital, Mater Private Hospital and St Andrew’s War Memorial Hospital.
