Dr. Yun Phua

Dr Yun Phua is a Specialist Plastic Surgeon in Brisbane with extensive experience in reconstructive and aesthetic facial surgery. He completed specialist training in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, followed by subspecialty fellowship training in craniofacial surgery and reconstructive microsurgery.
He is currently Director of the Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Queensland Children’s Hospital and also practices at the Mater Hospital Brisbane.
Dr Phua graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery at the University of Auckland, New Zealand. He then completed training in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in New Zealand and Australia. His subspecialty fellowship training was undertaken at the Royal Children’s Hospital Melbourne and at the Uppsala University Hospital in Sweden.
Dr Phua is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, a member of the Australian Society of Plastic Surgery and the Australasian Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, and currently serves as President of the Australian and New Zealand Society of Craniomaxillofacial Surgery.
Dr Phua is actively involved in research through the University of Queensland and at present is involved in clinical trials investigating the use of 3D printed biological scaffolds for facial reconstruction.
